THIS street has been flooded for more than a week.
Residents have been faced with the foot-deep flood in Bakers Lane, Colchester since storm St Jude hit Essex.
The waters have yet to subside and motorists driving through are to risking water damage to their vehicles’ engines.
Essex County Council, which is responsible for the road, said it had been investigating the problem and hoped to have it sorted out soon.
A spokesman said: “We have investigated the flooding in Bakers Lane and have placed flooding warning signs at the site to alert road users to this concern.
“Being a low-lying area, officers are working with the landowners to clear the ditches in the area to help alleviate this surface flooding.”
