MORE than 30 workmen have put their razors aside to support Movember.

During November, thousands of men across north Essex will try and grow the best moustache they can.

Among them will be 30 builders, plumbers and other workers who will raise cash for the J’s Hospice, which is looking after one of their colleagues’ daughters.

The men, who work for a range of different companies, are all based at a Persimmons Homes site in Stanway.

Dean Long, 39, said: “A few of us were talking about it in the canteen and the idea just grew.

“We went around the site asking people and everyone was up for it. Everyone from ground workers to the site manager is taking part. “We are excited to do it. The itching is the one thing we are dreading, but it will be worth it.”

J’s Hospice provides nursing respite and end-of-life care and support for people aged between 16 and 40 with life limiting conditions and their families.

Dean said: “Our colleague was absolutelymade up we would all come together to do this.

“We’re hoping to get more than £1,000. If it is more than that, it’s an extra.”
