A MINI-RECYCLING centre has been installed in a Colchester estate.
During a consultation, it was discovered residents in Paul Spendlove Court, in St John’s, Colchester, had no way to recycle any materials.
Now recycling bins have been installed by Colchester Borough Homes at the block of flats, which are home to 12 families.
It means residents can now dispose of card, tins, cans and bottles.
Paul Smith, borough councillor for St John’s, said: “Residents there had nothing and during the questionnaire, we saw people wanted to recycle.
“So we worked with Colchester Borough Homes and we’ve been able to make a difference.
“The more people we have recycling, the better, especially as we roll out food waste collections.”
