VOLUNTEERS raised £3,000 for a hospice after organising a concert.
Betty Blower and Carole Goodwin have run the Voices for Hospices event, which see thousands of pounds raised every two years, since 2005.
This year’s event, called Time To Sing, was held at the Colne Community School, in Brightlingsea on October 13.
It saw a number of acts perform to an audience of more than 100 at the Church Road school.
A cheque for £3,133.71 was handed over to the St Helena Hospice on Wednesday at its Highwoods centre, in Barncroft Close.
Mrs Goodwin said: “This is all down to Betty.
“She’s 90-years-old and every year, she says it will be her last but she is just amazing.”
