A group of campaigners marked national Badger Day by attempting a pier-to-pier walk to raise awareness of the cull.
Members of the Tendring branch of the North East Essex Badger Group walked from Clacton Pier to Walton Pier on Saturday to raise money and awareness of the group.
Pauline Green, a member of the group, said: “Most people were only too pleased to help.
“It was to support the Badger Trust’s work against the cull.
“We are against the cull. We would rather the money was spent getting the vaccination.”
The volunteers are still counting the donations they received on the day, but so far they have collected about £600 in sponsorship.
