RESIDENTS have until Friday to submit their views on plans to switch off the majority of street lights in Colchester.
Essex County Council plans to introduce part-night lighting on November 1, which means street lights would be switched off between midnight and 5am.
Lights at busy road junctions, in town centres and in areas of high crime are exempt from the plans.
To register opposition or support or request for lights in a specific area to be kept on, email partnightlighting@essexhighways.org.
Residents can also contact their own borough councillors and county councillors.
