A VILLAGE music festival has raised £9,500 for local charities.
The five-day Bures Music Festival last month gave out the cash to organisations at an awards ceremony on Thursday.
The Ferriers Barn Art and Craft Centre for the disabled in Bures received the main donation of £2,000, while the St Helena Hospice and the St Nicholas Hospice in Bury St Edmunds were each given £1,000.
Other donations included £1,000 to the Dream Appeal, raising funds for the children’s ward at Colchester General Hospital, £1,000 to the Noah’s Ark Nursery Group in Bures, the Essex Air Ambulance and Help Roxi Walk.
- Next year’s event will run from July 9-13.
