A HOSPITAL worker who treated cancer patients has been declared incompetent.
The Health and Care Professionals Council conduct and competence committee heard Manik Sharma injured a colleague, had the knowledge of a first year student, and if left unsupervised could have put patients at risk.
Sharma was employed by Colchester Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust as a therapeutic radiographer, treating cancer patients, from May 10 2012 following an interview on Skype, but when he arrived from his native India colleagues found him severely lacking. He was dismissed on July 12 the same year.
The competence committee suspended Sharma for one year.
