THE regeneration of Colchester’s Hythe has received a fresh funding boost.
Colchester Council has secured European Union funding totalling 264,500 Euros - around £228,000 - for a series of projects aimed at reviving the town’s Old Port.
Lyn Barton, councillor responsible for renaissance said, “The Old Port at the Hythe is really important to local residents and a key part of Colchester’s heritage.
“We are delighted to have secured this additional funding and it will go a long way to helping us improve the area for current and future generations and acknowledges the confidence the EU has in this project and how it’s progressing.”
