A COLCHESTER school has been recognised as ‘good’ after a visit from education watchdog Ofsted.
St George's Infant School and Nursery School, in Barrington Road, was inspected last month.
An inspection report, published late last week said: “Pupils in Years One and Two are enthusiastic and keen learners.
“They behave well in lessons and around the school.”
It added: “There have been good improvements to teaching since the previous inspection.
“Work is more demanding, and the use of questioning and opportunities to develop pupils’ writing skills have been strengthened.”
In June 2010, inspectors found it to be ‘satisfactory’.
