SCIENTISTS at Essex University have worked with NASA on a project using brainpower to control a virtual spacecraft.
Two people steered a virtual spacecraft to a planet using a unique brain-computer interface (BCI) mouse, developed by scientists at the university, as part of a £500,00 project with NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab in Pasadena, California.
BCIs convert signals generated from the brain into control commands for various applications, including virtual reality and hands-free control.
