A BURGLARY victim has praised the “fantastic” police who helped recover some of her property after one of a number of burglaries in recent weeks.
Officers have arrested and charged several suspects following a spate of burglaries and urged the public to help them by providing information and by taking extra care with their belongings.
Nicola Vernon, 30, of Rochdale Way, Colchester, was burgled overnight between Friday, December 28, and Saturday morning.
She said: “I returned home on Saturday afternoon and the lights were on and a window open which was odd.
“When I got in I saw everything had been tipped out and they had gone through everything.
“They took my tv, jewellery an Armani watch, a watch my mum gave me.
“They took my laptop and camera and wiped all the pictures.
“I am so upset they were in the house and I can’t afford a new tv but the police have been fantastic.
“They called or texted me and kept me up to date and called to say they got some of it back so I went to identify it.”
