A CYCLIST narrowly escaped serious injury when a beer bottle was thrown at her head from a passing car.
Janet Curl was travelling up Clingoe Hill, St Andrew’s Avenue, when the glass missile was launched at her from a white hatchback.
The incident happened on Saturday at 5.45pm, when Janet was returning to her Elmstead Market home after work along with her husband and 14-year-old son, also on bikes.
- Essex Police have appealed for anyone who saw the incident, or have themselves had bottles thrown at them from passing cars, to contact officers at Colchester Police Station on 101.
