WHAT more could you need as you prepare to welcome the festive season this year than a bowl of turkey-flavoured crisps.

Now two award-winning Essex-based food producers have teamed up to come up with a snack designed to get any Christmas party going.

Having already combined a number of locally-produced flavours with its homegrown potatoes for a range of crisps, Fairfields Farms has now come up with turkey-flavoured snacks to add to a range which also includes Aspall Cider and Vinegar, Maldon sea salt and Suffolk cheddar.

The Kelly bronze turkey, sage & onion crisps are now on the shelves in time for the seasonal shop.

Fairfields produces all its crisps at its family farm just outside Colchester, in the village of Wormingford.

Having farmed potatoes for years, they decided to create their own product using their crops and have not looked back since, winning a number of awards along the way, including regional producer of the year for the Co-op supermarket.

Every potato is hand-picked, washed, peeled and prepared on site for each bag of crisps.

It has already been a big year for introducing new products with the range’s healthier alternative, lentil bites, launched earlier this autumn.

The best quality potatoes are dug, chopped, cooked and packed all on one site to ensure the best taste and the lowest possible food miles.  The latest flavour hitting the shops has been the result of a collaboration with Kelly Bronze, based just down the road in Danbury. Over the years it has developed a reputation for providing the popular festive meat for families across the world.

Robert Strathern, who founded Fairfield Farm Crisps ten years ago, says they are very proud of the new crisps and enjoyed working with Kelly Bronze.

He explains: “Our new Kelly Bronze Turkey Sage & Onion Crisps are not only delicious, but truly striking too.  “The black packaging is sleek and eye-catching and the crisps inside don’t disappoint.

“It has been great to work with the team at Kelly Bronze to produce a delicious snack product that really defines the flavour of Christmas,” he adds.

Kelly Bronze Turkey, Sage and Onion Crisps are now available in delicatessens, farm shops and East Of England Coop Stores at a cost of 80p for a 40g bag.
