A unique film screening is taking place at the Colchester Arts Centre this weekend.
And I is by artist and experimental filmmaker Reynir Hutber in which he records artist Marcia Farquhar. talk for eight hours.
The film which is intended to only be shown once in any location is a single-channel video of Marcia speaking without edits of sustained pauses.
Her monologue, occasionally prompted by Reynir, is improvised and entirely unrehearsed and is an act of endurance for the performers and, potentially, the audience who are free to leave and enter the space at will. The video, which is the length of a traditional working day raises the notion of thinking, speaking and remembering as forms of unacknowledged labour.
It runs at the Church Street venue this Sunday from 11am to 7pm with free admission.
