THE world premiere of psychological thriller And Then the Dark opens at the New Wolsey Theatre this week.
Written by Mike Lesslie, the man behind the West End smash hit Swimming Sharks, And Then the Dark is set a town house in present day London, seven years after Edward Alberly’s wife and son died in suspicious circumstances in a fire in the attic.
Edward is still tormented by their ghosts, but refuses to accept they are gone – if they have.
Taking the lead tole of Edward is Paul Ansdell, who is well known from TV shows Dangerfield and Rosemary and Thyme.
Peter Rowe, New Wolsey artistic director, says: “This is a brand new play that feels like a classic and provides a great opportunity to immerse the audience in the room alongside, with the sights, sounds and shocks happening all around them.”
