Matt Lucas has said that Little Britain will “definitely” return but could take the form of a podcast.

The star, 46, recently revealed that he and David Walliams, 48, had discussed reviving their BBC show with Netflix.

Appearing on The One Show via video link, he said they messaged each other “most days” and had been discussing the different forms a reunion could take.

Lucas told hosts Alex Jones and Amol Rajan: “(Walliams and I) message each other most days and send each other those silly memes that everybody sends.

“We are getting on well and we are thinking about what we can do with Little Britain.

“But we don’t know what it will be. Could it be a podcast? Could it be a series on TV? Could it be a stage show?”

Little Britain began as a radio show in 2000 and moved to TV in 2003, running for three series.

Referring to his new job co-hosting the Great British Bake Off, Lucas added: “And also, (Walliams) is very busy doing Britain’s Got Talent and writing his books. I have got another job coming up that you will know about, Alex.

“We have just got to find the time but definitely we will do. We are not 100% sure but we will.”

Speaking from his home, Lucas admitted he had failed to use lockdown as a chance to clean.

He said: “I have been making lots of soup and sort of vaguely cleaning things. Just cleaning the bit where I am at that time. I probably need to get on to that, to be honest with you.”

Lucas appeared on the show to promote his new single, Thank You Baked Potato.

All proceeds from the song will go to FeedNHS, an initiative set up to raise £1 million to get 6,000 meals per day into London hospitals for critical care staff as they deal with the coronavirus crisis.

Rajan is one of a number of presenters co-hosting with Jones following the departure of Matt Baker earlier this week.
