If you’re going to take on the biggest song of the year by one of Britain’s biggest artists, forgetting the words and making up some alternatives probably isn’t going to get you many votes.
Che Chesterman may have had his confidence knocked after being in the bottom two last week because he lost his nerve when he took on the public’s choice song of Hello by Adele.
Strangely the judges didn’t give him much of a hard time for it though. In fact, Rita thought he made it “his own”. Yeah that happens when you make up the lyrics…
And Nick Grimshaw actually congratulated him for “thinking on his feet”.
Simon Cowell spoke some sense though saying, “I don’t mean this rudely… you look like you’ve just come from work… your overall star power has gone back a little bit.”
Thankfully Che remembered all the lyrics of Otis Reading’s Try A Little Tenderness later in the show.
