Tomorrow evening, in the lovely little church of St James the Less in Hadleigh, there’s a chance to enjoy an evening of music performed by “Bella Voce”.

This trio of two sopranos and pianist will present a varied programme of classics and also some lighter music. This concert starts at 7.30pm and is followed by buffet and wine. On the same night, the Southend Chamber Music Club’s concert will take place at St Margaret’s Church, Leigh, where a programme including music for four hands on one piano by Respighi, Barber, Walton and Debussy, guitar trios, music for clarinet and piano and vocal music will be performed.

The concert starts at 7.30pm. The club draws on its own members to perform, and this produces a wonderful pool of talent, providing a great mix of players of all ages.

In addition to these two Southend based concerts tomorrow, the Southend Boys’ and Girls’ Choirs will be performing a concert at St Andrew’s Church, Sandon, near Chelmsford, starting at 7.30pm.

As the September weather holds out, there are a couple more chances to catch a concert at the Southend Bandstand in Priory Park. This Sunday at 3pm the Hadleigh Salvation Army Brass Band will be performing there until 5pm in a free concert.

The following Sunday the series closes with an afternoon of music by the Bryan Williamson Big Band. On Wednesday evening at 7.30pm, Rayleigh Brass will be performing a concert for the Burnham Carnival Association at Ormiston Rivers Academy, Burnham on Crouch.
