A FIRM favourite with jazz fans is coming to Hadleigh Old Fire Station.
Gilad Atzmon, the Israeli saxophonist now based in London, has an affinity to the area because he studied at Essex University.
His music combines bebop and Middle-Eastern roots and is heavily influenced by John Coltrane’s powerful saxaphone playing.
Gilad has recorded and performed with, among others, Ian Dury, Robbie Williams, Sinead O'Connor, Sir Paul McCartney and the Waterboys. As well as being a prolific musician, Gilad is a novelist and political activist.
The Gilad Atzmon Quartet, with Gilad on saxophones, Frank Harrison, piano, Yaron Stavi on bass, and Eddie Hicks, on drums, will play the venue on June 27 at 8pm. Admission is £5. Call 07786 864263 for more details and tickets.
