COMIC and TV star Alan Carr will headline the comedy stage at this year’s V Festival.

The host of Chatty Man will be making his V debut and headline the Glee Club Comedy Tent on the Saturday night of the festival.

Presenter of the Last Leg, Australian Adam Hills, will headline on Sunday.

The pair will be joined over the two days by many household names and rising stars of comedy including Paul Chowdhry, Jimmy McGhie, Rob Beckett and Andrew Maxwell.

On the main stage, international superstar Rita Ora has been added to a stellar line-up that already includes Justin Timberlake, the Killers, Elbow, Pixie Lott, Nile Rodgers and the Manic Street Preachers.

The singer of I Will Never Let You Down will take to the stage on the Sunday.

Carr, a Bafta winner last year, can’t wait to take to the stage. He said: “Can’t wait to perform at V! Watch out Timberlake, there’s someone else bringing sexy back. See you there!”

Hills said of his appearance: “I’m a V virgin, and am therefore quite excited to pop my cherry at this year’s festival. Since it’s my first time, I’m guessing I’ll make a fool of myself, be very loud, and it’ll all be over much quicker than I had hoped.”

The comedy stage is another addition to the line-up at this year’s festival, which will once again take place at Hylands Park in Chelmsford on Saturday, August 16 and Sunday August 17.

Tickets are still on sale for the event, and are available online at www.vfestival.com
