SOUL band the Real Thing will be marking 40 years in the business by going back on the road.
They’ll be bringing hits such as You to Me Are Everything, Can You Feel the Force and Can’t Get By Without You, to the Palace Theatre, Westcliff, on Thursday April 24.
The three original vocalists, Chris Amoo, Eddie Amoo and Dave Smith, will be singing the band’s own hits, plus classics from the likes of Kool and the Gang and Chic.
Lead singer Eddie Amoo formed the Real Thing with brother Chris Ammo, and Ray Lake and Dave Smith in their hometown of Liverpool.
With a song written and produced by Ken Gold and Mick Denne, The Real Thing had their first hit in 1976 when You To Me Are Everything sailed to the top of the UK singles chart.
They also released the Singles Collection, a 35-track double album.
