Highways Act 1980 – Section 119
Diversion of a Bridleway at West Mersea
Public Path Order 2018
The above Order made on 5th February 2018 under section 119 of the
Highways Act 1980 will divert two sections of Bridleway 13 in the Parish
of West Mersea in the Borough of Colchester as shown on the Order
Map contained in the Order.
A part length of Bridleway 13 West Mersea commencing from grid
reference 60154,21379 and running in a north easterly direction along
the existing track south of Wellhouse Farm for a total distance of 215
metres to grid reference 60153,21390 north of the telephone mast will be
diverted to a new route commencing at the same point and running in a
south south easterly direction then a south easterly direction along the
western field boundary for a distance of 112 metres to grid reference
60160,21371 then continuing in an east north easterly direction along the
southern field boundary through the copse for a further distance of 202
metres to grid reference 60179,21378. The bridleway then continues in a
generally north north westerly direction along the existing track for a final
distance of 140 metres to the same above point of termination.
A further length of Bridleway 13 West Mersea starting from grid reference
60173,21390 and running in a south easterly direction along the existing
track for 6 metres then in north easterly direction across the field east of
Wellhouse Farm for a further distance of 238 metres to grid reference
60194,21402 then continuing in a north easterly direction across the field
for a distance of 300 metres to grid reference 60222,21413 where it
connects to Dawes Lane will be diverted to a new route 3 metres wide
commencing at the same point and running in a north easterly direction
in a straight line across the field for a distance of 540 metres to the same
point of termination
A copy of the Order and the Order Map have been placed in and may be
seen free of charge at the Colchester Borough Council Offices, Town Hall,
Colchester, CO1 1FR and at the Chelmsford Public Library, Market Road,
Chelmsford during normal working hours. Copies of the Order and Order
Map are available on request from the Chelmsford Library at a charge.
Any representations about or objections to the Order may be sent or
delivered in writing addressed to Laurence Page, Definitive Map Officer,
Definitive Map Service, Essex County Council, County Hall, A2, Market
Road, Chelmsford CM1 1QH by no later than, 4th May, 2018 and should
state the grounds on which it is made. If no such representations or
objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, Essex
County Council may itself confirm the Order as an unopposed Order.
If the Order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment for
confirmation, any representations and objections which have not been
withdrawn will be sent together with the Order.
Highways Act 1980 – Section 25
Footpath Creation at Stanway
By Agreement under Section 25 of the Highways Act 1980 between
Essex County Council and O & H Colchester Limited, a new public
footpath has been created in the parish of Stanway in the Borough of
Colchester. The new public footpath which is 2 metres in width and 70
metres in length, commences from grid reference 59495,22404 at its
junction with Footpath 5 Stanway and runs in a generally east south
easterly to the south side of the children’s play area then in a generally
easterly direction to grid reference 59495,22404 where it connects to the
new highway which connects to Church Lane Stanway.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2018
Notice is hereby given
that the Essex County Council intends, not less
than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order
under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close that length of B1027 St Osyth
Road, Alresford in the District of Tendring, from a point approximately
245 metres south east of its junction with Cockaynes Lane, south east
for a distance of approximately 30 metres to a point approximately
100 metres north west of its junction with Station Road.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 14 April 2018 to 16 April 2018
or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while
works to install a new foul sewer connection associated with a Section
50 Licence are undertaken.
The alternative route will be via B1027 St Osyth Road, B1028, Clingoe Hill,
Clacton Road, Colchester Road, Clacton Road, Frating Hill, Main Road,
Great Bentley Road, Station Road, B1027 St Osyth Road and vice versa.
Access for emergency service vehicles and pedestrians will be
maintained at all times during the closure.
The Order will come into effect on 14 April 2018 and may continue
in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed,
whichever is the earlier.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2018
Notice is hereby given
that the Essex County Council intends, not less
than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order
under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close that length of Church Street,
Colchester in the Borough of Colchester, from a point approximately
35m west of its junction with Head Street for a distance of approximately
10m in a westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on
23rd April 2018 for 3 days (works to take place between 18:00 - 06:00),
or where stated on a valid permit (AD03154477076 – Anglian Water).
The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs
showing and/or displayed on www.roadworks.org. The closure is
required for the safety of the public and workforce while pipe repair
works are undertaken by Anglian Water.
An alternative route is available via Head Street, North Hill, Balkerne
Gardens and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 12th April 2018 and may continue
in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed,
whichever is the earlier.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2018
Notice is hereby given
that the Essex County Council intends, not less
than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order
under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close that length of Upland Road, West
Mersea in the Borough of Colchester, from a point approximately 108m east
of its junction with Upland Crescent for a distance of approximately 20m in
an easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 23rd April
2018 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AZ0081000680374 –
Cadent Gas). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with
appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on www.roadworks.org.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new
gas connection works are undertaken by Cadent Gas.
An alternative route is available via Kingsland Road, Barfield Road,
High Street North and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 12th April 2018 and may continue
in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed,
whichever is the earlier.

that the Essex County Council has made the
above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close that length of Old Road,
Clacton in the District of Tendring, from a point approximately 30m south
of its junction with Valley Road for a distance of approximately 35m in a
southerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 7th April
2018 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30034779516 – UK
Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with
appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on www.roadworks.org. The
closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while
electrical connection works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.
An alternative route is available via London Road, Wellesley Road,
Olivers Road, Old Road, St Johns Roundabout, St Johns Road, Valley
Road and vice versa.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2018
Notice is hereby given
that the Essex County Council intends, not less
than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order
under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close that length of Chapel Lane,
Tendring in the District of Tendring, from a point approximately 130m
southwest of its junction with Parsonage Lane for a distance of
approximately 30m in a southwesterly direction. The closure is
scheduled to commence on 26th April 2018 for 7 days, or where stated
on a valid permit (EC30034787089 – UK Power Networks). The
scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs
showing and/or displayed on www.roadworks.org. The closure is
required for the safety of the public and workforce while electrical
connection works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.
An alternative route is available via Clacton Road, Parsonage Lane,
Chapel Lane and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 12th April 2018 and may continue
in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed,
whichever is the earlier.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2018
Notice is hereby given
that the Essex County Council has made the
above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close that length of Peldon Road,
Peldon in the Borough of Colchester, from its junction with Layer Road
for a distance of approximately 3000m in a southerly direction. The
closure is scheduled to commence on 10th April 2018 for 7 days, or
where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2240998 – Essex County
Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate
signs showing and/or displayed on www.roadworks.org. The closure is
required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway
patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Layer Road, Mersea Road, School
Lane, Colchester Road, The Strood, St Ives Road and vice versa.

that the Essex County Council intends, not less
than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order
under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close that length of Hardys Green,
Birch in the Borough of Colchester, from its junction with Maldon Road
for a distance of approximately 274m in a northwesterly direction. The
closure is scheduled to commence on 24th April 2018 for 2 days, or
where stated on a valid permit (AD030000052606268 – Anglian Water).
The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs
showing and/or displayed on www.roadworks.org. The closure is
required for the safety of the public and workforce while water meter
exchange works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2018
Notice is hereby given
that the Essex County Council has made the
above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close that length of Station Road,
Alresford in the District of Tendring, from its junction with Cox Road to its
junction with Alresford Station, a distance of approximately 64m. The
closure is scheduled to commence on 9th April 2018 for 2 days, or where
stated on a valid permit (AZ0081000693621 – Cadent). The scheduled
dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or
displayed on www.roadworks.org. The closure is required for the safety
of the public and workforce while new service works are undertaken by
Cadent Gas.
An alternative route is available via Wivenhoe Road, St Osyth Road and
vice versa.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Clearway)
(No.1) Order 2018
Notice is hereby given
that the Essex County Council has made the
above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close the various lengths of road in the Borough
of Colchester as specified in the Schedule to this Order.
2. 1A temporary ‘No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both
sides of carriageway on the above lengths of roads for the duration
of the closure to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating
when the No Stopping restriction will be in force.
“The Essex County Council (Colchester Borough) (Permitted Parking Area
and Special Parking Area) (Consolidation) Order 2008” and “The Essex
County Council (Colchester Borough) (Permitted Parking & Special Parking
Area) Order 2014” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary
‘No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking
and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only. All other
restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and
Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from
29th March 2018, exact dates will be specified on http://roadworks.org/.
The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase and then re-opened to
the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion
routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of
the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning
signs on the road.

The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from
