(Queen Elizabeth Way, Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2018

(Queen Elizabeth Way, Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2018
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council
intends, not less than seven days from the date of this
notice, to make the above Order under Section 14(1)
of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length
of Queen Elizabeth Way, Colchester in the Borough
of Colchester, from its junction with Mersea Road
to its junction with Monkwick Avenue, a distance
of approximately 476m. The closure is scheduled
to commence on 10th April 2018 for 4 days, or where
stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2243430 – Essex
County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for
these works with appropriate signs showing and/or
displayed on www.roadworks.org. The closure
is required for the safety of the public and workforce
while carriageway works are undertaken by Essex
County Council.
An alternative route is available via Mersea Road,
Stansted Road, Queen Elizabeth Way and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 29th March 2018
and may continue in force for 18 months or until the
works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

Tey Road, Aldham)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic)
Order 2018
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County
Council has made the above Order under Section
14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length
of Moor Road, Great Tey and Tey Road, Aldham in the
Borough of Colchester, from the junction with Chappel
Road, Great Tey to the junction with Brook Road, Aldham,
a distance of approximately 2950m. The closure is
scheduled to commence on 30th April 2018 for 5
days, or where stated on a valid permit
(EP201EH2238648 – Essex County Council).
The scheduled dates may vary for these works with
appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on
www.roadworks.org. The closure is required for
the safety of the public and workforce while
carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex
County Council.
An alternative route is available via Moor Road,
Chappel Road, Swan Street, Oak Road, Chappel Hill,
The Street, Colchester Road, Halstead Road, Ponders
Road, Ford Street, New Road and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 15th March 2018 and
may continue in force for 18 months or until the works
have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Chapel Road, Fingringhoe)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic)
Order 2018
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County
Council has made the above Order under Section
14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length
of Chapel Road, Fingringhoe in the Borough of
Colchester, from a point approximately 200m
northeast of its junction with South Green Road
for a distance of approximately 32m in a northeasterly
direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on
26th March 2018 for 4 days, or where stated on a
valid permit (AZ0081000685486 – Cadent Gas).
The scheduled dates may vary for these works with
appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on
www.roadworks.org. The closure is required for
the safety of the public and workforce while gas
service works are undertaken by Cadent Gas.
An alternative route is available via Rowhedge Road,
Fingringhoe Road, Weir Lane, Old Heath Road, Abbots
Road, Mersea Road, Blackheath, School Lane and
vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 15th March 2018 and
may continue in force for 18 months or until the works
have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Old Road, Clacton)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic)
Order 2018
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County
Council intends, not less than seven days from the
date of this notice, to make the above Order under
Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length
of Old Road, Clacton in the District of Tendring, from
a point approximately 30m south of its junction with
Valley Road for a distance of approximately 35m in
a southerly direction. The closure is scheduled to
commence on 7th April 2018 for 2 days, or where
stated on a valid permit (EC30034779516 – UK Power
Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these
works with appropriate signs showing and/or
displayed on www.roadworks.org. The closure
is required for the safety of the public and workforce
while electrical connection works are undertaken by
UK Power Networks.
An alternative route is available via London Road,
Wellesley Road, Olivers Road, Old Road, St Johns
Roundabout, St Johns Road, Valley Road and
vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 29th March 2018
and may continue in force for 18 months or until the
works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic)
Order 2018
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County
Council has made the above Order under Section
14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length
of East Street, Wivenhoe in the Borough of Colchester,
from its junction with High Street to its junction Alma
Road, a distance of approximately 73m. The closure
is scheduled to commence on 26th March 2018 for 5
days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2244305
– Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may
vary for these works with appropriate signs showing
and/or displayed on www.roadworks.org. The closure
is required for the safety of the public and workforce
while carriageway patching works are undertaken by
Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Alma Street,
High Street and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 15th March 2018 and
may continue in force for 18 months or until the works
have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic)
Order 2018
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County
Council has made the above Order under Section
14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length
of Causton Road, Colchester in the Borough of
Colchester, from its junction with North Station Road
to its junction with Albert Street, a distance of
approximately 61m. The closure is scheduled to
commence on 27th March 2018 for 4 days, or where
stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2242905 – Essex
County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for
these works with appropriate signs showing and/or
displayed on www.roadworks.org. The closure
is required for the safety of the public and workforce
while carriageway patching works are undertaken by
Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Causton Road,
North Station Road, Serpentine Walk, Albert Street
and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 15th March 2018 and
may continue in force for 18 months or until the works
have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic)
Order 2018
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County
Council intends, not less than seven days from the
date of this notice, to make the above Order under
Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length
of Peldon Road, Peldon in the Borough of Colchester,
from its junction with Layer Road for a distance of
approximately 3000m in a southerly direction. The
closure is scheduled to commence on 10th April
2018 for 7 days, or where stated on a valid permit
(EP201EH2240998 – Essex County Council).
The scheduled dates may vary for these works with
appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on
www.roadworks.org. The closure is required for
the safety of the public and workforce while
carriageway patching works are undertaken
by Essex County Council.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic)
Order 2018
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County
Council intends, not less than seven days from the
date of this notice, to make the above Order under
section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length
of Station Road, Alresford in the District of Tendring,
from its junction with Cox Road to its junction with
Alresford Station, a distance of approximately 64m.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 9th April
2018 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit
(AZ0081000693621 – Cadent). The scheduled dates
may vary for these works with appropriate signs
showing and/or displayed on www.roadworks.org.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and
workforce while new service works are undertaken by
Cadent Gas.
An alternative route is available via Wivenhoe Road,
St Osyth Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 29th March 2018

works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Clacton Road, Colchester &
Clacton Road, Elmstead)
(Westbound Only) (Temporary
reduction of speed limit
(50mph & 40mph)) Order 2018
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County
Council has made the above Order under Section
14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily introduce a speed limit reduction
to 50 mph in that length of Clacton Road,
Elmstead in the Borough of Colchester from a
point approximately 400m west of its junction with
Tye Road for a distance of approximately 825m in
a westerly direction. (Road is currently national
speed limit).
2. To temporarily introduce a speed limit reduction
to 40 mph from the westernmost point above to
a point approximately 90m east of its junction with
Brightlingsea Road, a distance of approximately
940m on Clacton Road, Colchester (where the
road becomes a 50 mph speed limit).
Please note the above restrictions only apply in the
westbound lanes.
The speed limit reduction is scheduled to commence
on 28th March 2018 for 3 days, or where stated on
a valid permit (EP201EH2238816A – Essex County
Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these
works with appropriate signs showing and/or
displayed on www.roadworks.org. The speed limit
reduction is required for the safety of the public and
workforce while traffic sign and road marking
improvement works are undertaken by Essex
County Council.
The Order came into effect on 15th March 2018 and
may continue in force for 18 months or until the
works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

of Colchester)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic &
Clearway) (No.1) Order 2018
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County
Council intends, not less than seven days from the
date of this notice to make the above Order under
Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close the various lengths of road
in the Borough of Colchester as specified in the
Schedule to this Order.
2. A temporary ‘No Stopping’ restriction will be
introduced on both sides of carriageway on the
above lengths of roads for the duration of the
closure to facilitate the works. Signs will be
installed indicating when the No Stopping
restriction will be in force.
“The Essex County Council (Colchester Borough)
(Permitted Parking Area and Special Parking Area)
(Consolidation) Order 2008” and “The Essex County
Council (Colchester Borough) (Permitted Parking &
Special Parking Area) Order 2014” will be temporarily
amended to include the temporary ‘No Stopping at
Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing
parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths
of roads only. All other restrictions and exemptions
contained in the aforementioned Order and
Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The works being undertaken will take place within an
18-month period from 29th March 2018, exact dates
will be specified on http://roadworks.org/. The roads
will be closed to facilitate each phase and then
re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained
for emergency services. Diversion routes will be
signed at each location and residents will be informed
of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and
advanced warning signs on the road.
