Essex County Council (Colchester Borough) (Permitted Parking and Special Parking Area) (Amendment No.25) Order 201*
Notice is hereby given that Essex County Council proposes to
make the above Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 4(1), 4(2),
32, 35, 45, 46, 49, 53 and Parts III and IV of Schedule 9 of the
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The effect of the Order:
1. To introduce ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ restrictions on the following
length of Cavalry Road, Blacksmith Lane, Dragoon Road, Lancer
Street, Hussar Close in the Borough of Colchester:
Road Description
Cavalry Road,
Colchester
BOTH SIDES:
i. from a point approximately 10 metres southwest
of its junction with Lancer Street in a
north-easterly direction for a distance of
approximately 20 metres.
ii. From its junction with Circular Road West in
a north-easterly direction for a distance of
approximately 10 metres.
iii. From a point approximately 38.5 metres
north-east of its junction with Circular
Road West in a north-easterly direction for
a distance of approximately 10 metres to
its junction with Cavalry Road.
Cavalry Road/
Dragoon Road,
Colchester
BOTH SIDES: from a point approximately
21 metres south-east of its junction with
Blacksmith Lane in a south-easterly direction
for a distance of approximately 20 metres.
Dragoon Road,
Colchester
BOTH SIDES:
i. From a point approximately 10 metres southwest
of its junction with Lancer Street in a
north-easterly direction for a distance of
approximately 20 metres.
ii. From a point approximately 59 metres northeast
of its junction with Lancer Street in a
north-easterly direction for a distance of
approximately 10 metres.
v. From a point approximately 1.6 metres
north-west of the north-west point of No.25
Dragoon Road, in a south-easterly direction
for a distance of approximately 26.5 metres.
vi. From a point approximately 10 metres
north-west of its junction with Blacksmith
Close in a south-easterly direction for
a distance of approximately 20 metres.

of its junction with Blacksmith Lane in
a north-westerly direction for a distance of
approximately 20 metres.
iv. From its junction with Dragoon Road in a
south-easterly direction for a distance of
approximately 10 metres.
Hussar Close,

BOTH SIDES: from its junction with Lancer
Street in a north-easterly direction for a distance
of approximately 10 metres.
SOUTH-EAST SIDE: from a point approximately
56.5 metres north-east of its junction with
Lancer Street in a north-easterly direction for a
distance of approximately 10 metres.
NORTH-WEST SIDE: from a point
approximately 62 metres north-east of its
junction with Lancer Street in a north-easterly
direction for a distance of approximately 4
metres.
BOTH SIDES: From a point approximately
1.7 metres north west of the western
most corner of No.12 Hussar Close in a
north-westerly direction for approximately 28.8
metres.
2. To introduce ‘Resident Permit Holders Only Permit B1 Holders
Only’ restrictions on the following length of Cavalry Road,
Blacksmith Lane, Dragoon Road, Lancer Street, Hussar Close in
the Borough of Colchester:

NORTH-EAST/NORTH-WEST SIDE: from a
point approximately 10 metres south-east of its
junction with Dragoon Road in a south-easterly
then north-easterly direction for a distance
of approximately 139 metres.
Cavalry Road,

SOUTH-WEST/SOUTH-EAST SIDE: from a
point approximately 10 metres south-east of its
junction with Dragoon Road in a south-easterly
direction for approximately 65 metres
(along the centre line), then south-westerly
for approximately 10 metres and north-easterly
for approximately 74 metres.
BOTH SIDES: From a point aproximately
10 metres north-east of it junction with Circular
Road West for a distance of approimately
28.5 metres.
SOUTH-EAST SIDE: from a point approximately
10 metres north-east from its junction with
Lancer Street in a north-easterly direction for
approximately 54.5 metres.
NORTH WEST SIDE: from a point approximately
10 metres north-east of its junction with
Lancer Street in a north easterly direction for
approximately 65 metres.

BOTH SIDES: from a point approximately
10 metres north-east of its junction with Dragoon
Road to a point approximately 10 metres
south-west of its junction with Lancer Street;
a distance of approximately 59 metres.
Dragoon Road,

BOTH SIDES:
i. From a point approximately 10 metres northeast
of its junction with Lancer Street for
a distance of approximately 49 metres.
ii. From a point approximately 10 metres southeast
of its junction with Blacksmith Close
south east for a distance of approximately
11 metres.
iv. From a point approximately 10 metres northwest
of its junction with Blacksmith Lane in
a north-westerly then north-easterly direction
for approximately 108.5 metre to a point
approximately 10 metres south west of its
junction with Lancer Street.
Lancer Street,
Colchester
BOTH SIDES:
i. From a point approximately 10 metres southeast
of its junction with Dragoon Road for a
distance of approximately 25 metres.
ii. From a point approximately 10 metres southeast
of its junction with Hussar Close in a
south easterly direction for approximately
19 metres, to a point approximately
10 metres north-west of its junction
with Cavalry Close.
iii. From a point approximately 10 metres northwest
of its junction with Hussar Close in a
north-westerly direction for a distance of
approximately 45.5 metres, to a point
approximately 10 metres south-east of
Blacksmith Lane.

NORTH-WEST SIDE: from a point approximately
10 metres north-east of its junction with
Lancer Street for a distance of approximately
52 metres.
SOUTH-EAST SIDE: from a point approximately
10 metres north-east of its junction with
Lancer Street for a distance of approximately
46.5 metres.
All residents of Cavalry Road, Dragoon Road, Blacksmith Lane,
Hussar Close and Lancer Street are eligible to purchase a permit.
The current cost for a First Permit is £64 but this is increasing in
April to £65. A Second Permit is £80.00 and will remain at this price.
There is a limit of 2 resident permits per property and visitor permit
are unlimited although we put a nominal figure of 30 VP’s per month
which we extend if required, just to monitor their usage.
A permit holder must be a permanent resident of the property
to have a permit.
This Order will be incorporated into The Essex County Council
(Colchester Borough) (Permitted Parking and Special Parking Area)
Order 2014 by introducing tile number TL990 240 revision 1 and
substituting tile number TL990 242 revision 1 to revision 2
