Report of Local Government Ombudsman
The Local Government Ombudsman has issued a report following her investigation of a complaint against Essex County Council. The complaint was in connection with Education and Children's Services -alternative provision, special educational needs and Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plans. The Ombudsman found that there had been fault on the part of the Council and this had caused injustice to the complainant. Essex County Council has agreed to take action which the Ombudsman regards as providing a satisfactory remedy for part of the complaint. The Council must now consider the report and tell the Ombudsman within three months (or such longer period as she may agree) what it proposes to do. Copies of the report will be available for public inspection during normal office hours 09:00 to 17:00 hours, Monday to Friday at County Hall, Chelmsford, Main Reception, Market Road, CM1 1QH for three weeks starting on Monday 18th 2017. Anyone is entitled to take copies of the report or extracts from it. Copies will be supplied at a reasonable charge.
