Proposal to expand Lexden Springs School from 150 to 200 permanent places including, 30 boarding places
Notice is given in accordance with the School Organisation (Prescribed Alterations to Maintained Schools) (England) Regulations 2013 that Essex County Council intends to make a prescribed alteration to: Lexden Springs School (Community Special School) Halstead Road, Colchester, CO3 9AB from 1st September 2019. All requirements for consultation in respect of developing this proposal have been complied with.
The current permanent capacity of Lexden Springs School is 150. The school is currently being rebuilt on another site as a result of previous proposals. The proposal is that permanent capacity from 1st September 2019 will increase to 200, including 30 Monday to Thursday term time boarding places.

The enlargement will be achieved by the transfer of Lexden Springs School from its current location in Halstead Road, Colchester, CO3 9AB to a new site in Winstree Road, Stanway, Colchester, CO3 0QE in new purpose built accommodation. The new site is 1 mile (straight line) from the existing site.
