(Footpath 8, Great Bentley) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2021

Notice is hereby given that the above Order made by Essex County Council, under S14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, has been continued in force with the consent of the Secretary of State for the Department for Transport until 16 May 2024 or until the completion of the works, whichever is the earlier.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close Footpath 8, Great Bentley in the District of Tendring from its junction with Elm Close in a southerly direction to its junction with Byway 20, Great Bentley, a distance of approximately 1151 metres.
The alternative route will be via Birch Avenue, Station Road, Plough Road, Byway 20 and vice versa.
The closure commenced on 28 July 2021 and is required for the safety of the public and the pending decision regarding the Essex TWA level crossing Order, whilst the new longer Greater Anglian train carriages are standing on the footpath crossing.
