John Arthur Parsonson F.R.I.C.S

JOHN ARTHUR PARSONSON F.R.I.C.S 1941 - 2019 Rotarian and respected Business Man. Born in Colchester to Arthur Parsonson, Master Baker and past Mayor of Colchester and his wife Peggy. John qualified as a Chartered Surveyor at twenty-one. He married Jill in 1963 and they lived in Hornchurch initially where he worked as a Surveyor to the County Council. John and Jill returned to Colchester after the death of Jill's mother shortly after their wedding. They have two children Simon also a Chartered Surveyor and Nicki a Chartered Insurance Underwriter and Interior Designer. He has a Daughter-in-Law Lisa and two Grandchildren Ryan and Charlotte. John then worked for the County Council in Park Road. Later he joined Fenn Wright & Co Chartered Surveyors and Estate Agents, where he eventually became a Partner for over 20 years. John was a founder member of the Colchester Forum Rotary Club and past President, also a member of the Colchester Thieves and Old Colcestrians (Colchester Royal Grammar School) and very proud to have been made a Queen's Scout in his teens. He was also a Freeman of Sudbury. Throughout his life he enjoyed his passion for Sailing and recently touring in his Motorhomes. He has lived in Nayland for the last ten years and enjoyed life in his lovely home by the river where he pursued his hobby of watercolour painting. He became very talented and sold many of his pictures. He will be greatly missed by his beloved family and many friends. A Celebration of John's life will be held at St John the Baptist Church, Layer de la Haye, on Thursday 27th June at 11am.
