HUNGRY thieves have stolen tonnes of popcorn from a lorry.
They made cuts in the side of the trailer using a sharp tool and stole four pallets containing snacks, believed to be bags of popcorn.
A standard pallet has a load bearing capacity of about three tonnes.
It happened on the A12 northbound, near Colchester, some time between 9.30pm on January 15 and 9.30am on January 16.
