BARGAIN hunters were treated to a giant jumble sale with a twist.

Crowds packed into Colchester Arts Centre on Saturday for the second annual Jumble Sale, hosted by Hunt and Darton.

The pair, who created H&D pop-up Cafe, brought their renowned wacky form of fun by offering personal shopping with the help of Scottee the Expert and choreographing a catwalk show with Sigs in Wigs.

Shoppers were also treated to a game of Put It On, where contestants were given 30 seconds to pile on as many clothes as possible to win what they were wearing.

Stalls were stacked high with unwanted Christmas presents and pre-loved items from lawnmowers to a sofa.

Shoppers could also get a handy psychic reading from Stacy Makishi to make sure they had made the right purchase.

Anthony Roberts, director of Colchester Arts Centre, said: “We were overwhelmed not only by the number of people who came, but also the number of donations.

“A personal favourite of mine was a Vibrapower.

“I had no clue what it was when the guy offered to donate it, turns out it is some kind of exercise machine for muscle toning.

“It is very bizarre but we took it and we sold it.

“Hunt and Darton were absolutely brilliant, they brought all their off-the-wall energy.”
