To Russia with love

2:54pm Tuesday 3rd July 2001

AN AID worker from Vladivostock visited Bromley Christian Centre to talk about her work with street children.

Rachael Hughes, originally from New Zealand, founded the charity Living Hope in Russia.

This was after she visited the country and saw the plight of homeless children.

Bromley-based charity Aid to Russia and the Republics has raised more than £25,000 in the last three years to support her work.

More cash is needed to set up a work farm on the outskirts of Vladivostock to enable children to learn farming skills.

Charity spokesman Miranda Suit said: “Rachael's talk was inspirational. We hope to continue our support of her work.”
