Jean had a major stroke and was finding it difficult to use her bath. She says,“When Papworth Trust visited me to talk about applying for a disabled facilities grant to fund my new level access shower I said I didn’t want to do any paperwork or handle any money and I didn’t have to. My new bathroom is really marvellous.

“Sophie has cerebral palsy and we chose this house with a view to being able to adapt it to suit her needs. Sophie’s Occupational Therapist put us in touch with Papworth Trust Home Solutions. The Trust worked with us to apply for funding to build a ground floor extension. The work included a new room for Sophie, with an access ramp so she can go out into the back garden, as well as accessibility improvements to the kitchen. We were very pleased with the service from Papworth Trust, and we were particularly impressed with the builders.

Sophie loves her new room and it is so much better for us now we don’t have to carry her up and down stairs anymore” says mum Marion.

"Alex has loved being out of the house doing 'teenage stuff' with his peers."

"Josh has had a great time! It's nice for him to do something he enjoys with children of his own age. Can't wait for the next one!"

"What a pleasurable experience the music and drama school was for both parents and young people alike. As parents it was lovely to leave our children in pleasant, welcoming surroundings confident that they would enjoy their day. Then to watch at the end of the week the newly found confidence and skills they had acquired in such a short space of time was wonderful."
