WIVENHOE Tennis Club's men's A team have finished the Stringers World Colchester and District League season on a positive note.
Despite fielding weakened teams and fielding players from division three and division five teams, they won their last two matches in division one.
They secured 5-4 victories against both Lexden Hill A and Spring Lane B.
Although unable to play through injury, team captain Jamie Champion said he was pleased that the experience gained by players competing in the lower divisions ensured full teams could be fielded, demonstrating the depth in talent at Wivenhoe TC.
The club's Men's A team finished a creditable second in division one.
Wivenhoe TC ladies rounded off their season in fine form with a 9-0 victory against Spring Lane B, confirming their position as division three champions.
But the club's Mixed B team just missed out on winning division four.
