Ali Carter will be looking to bounce back to winning ways when he tackles his first-round match at the Royal London Watches Grand Prix.
The Colchester-born star – who lost to Ronnie O’Sullivan in the final of this year’s 888.com World Championship in Sheffield – goes head-to-head with Stoke’s Dave Harold tomorrow.
The duo will do battle in a best-of-nine-frame match, starting at 1.30pm in the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre, Glasgow.
Carter, who grew up in Tollesbury and now lives in Chelmsford, will be aiming to get back to winning way after a first-round exit at last month’s Shanghai Masters.
It was the first ranking event of the year but Carter – the world number seven – bowed out 5-2 to Mark Williams.
He was one of four seeded players to perish at the opening hurdle, along with friend and practice partner Peter Ebdon, Shaun Murphy and Ding Junhui.
