Blur tickets sell out for comeback concert

Waiting – the queue for tickets Waiting – the queue for tickets

HUNDREDS of Blur fans braved a chilly April dawn in a bid to get their hands on tickets for the hottest gig in town.

Fans, of all ages, started to line the streets outside the Cliffs Pavilion from 5.30am on Friday. The doors opened at 9am and by 12.30pm all the tickets were gone.

The queueing frenzy was sparked as only members of the band’s fanclub were given the option to buy tickets online.

The Britpop legends are playing a warm-up gig on June 21 at the Westcliff venue ahead of gigs at Glastonbury and London’s Hyde Park.

Chris Morrison, Blur’s manager said: “The public’s reaction is flattering. The obvious excitement and anticipation of the people buying tickets makes it even more exciting for the band.”

Who was selling the tickets on ebay before they had even gone on sale to the public?

They are a great band, I particulary like their songs Wonderwall and Don't Look Back In Anger.

I don't know if that was deliberate but those songs are by Oasis!

JH_123 - Oh to be so young again as to not know about the great rivalry between Blur and Oasis all those years ago.
I think it's probably safe to say Nebs was being retrotopical.
