COLCHESTER secured their first win of the season against old foes Eton Manor.

The Mill Road side secured a 26-8 National League division three London and South East victory against their visitors.

Eton Manor opened the scoring with an early penalty for a 3-0 lead.

But Tom Miller pulled the sides level with a penalty of his own.

And the home side took the lead when Brett Cutbush kicked a drop goal to make it 6-3.

And Colchester went further in front when Damien Brambley crossed for a try and Miller added the extra two points.

Eton Manor went down to 14-men after a yellow card for killing the ball and but Miller couldn’t punish them further as his penalty kick went wide.

But Miller did extend Colchester’s lead to 16-3 when he slotted his next penalty.

After the break, Miller nudged Colchester further in front with another penalty kick.

But Eton Manor scored an unconverted try to reduce the deficit.

Miller, though, was in the thick of it again when his pass released Joe Flexman, who went straight through the Eton Manor defence to score under the posts.

Miller added the conversion for a 26-8 victory.
