Colchester are still looking for their first win in the National League Three London and South East.
London Irish Wild Geese were the visitors to Mill Road on Saturday and left with a 36-17 win.
The visitors took the lead with an unconverted try from outside-half Ollie Turner to go 5-0 up.
However, full-back Brett Cutbush levelled the score with a try to make it 5-5.
But a strong London Irish pack pressured the home side and led to a converted try from Turner to take a 12-5 lead.
The visitors went 19-5 ahead with another converted try by flanker Chris Brown.
London Irish increased their lead to 26-5 just before half-time when their full-back crossed for a converted try.
However, Colchester came back into the game in the second half.
Cutbush scored an unconverted try to make the score 26-10.
Joe Flexman then scored a try and a conversion by Tom Miller cut the deficit to 26-17.
But a penalty from George Owen saw London Irish stretch the lead to 29-17.
The visitors then wrapped the game up with a converted try for a 36-17 victory.
