COLCHESTER head coach Anthony O’Riordan is making sure his side have clear heads before their match at the weekend.

The Mill Road side still maintain their position at the top of London League division one north after last Saturday’s 38-0 home win against Barking.

Tomorrow they will be looking to maintain the two-point gap from second-placed Eton Manor when they travel to Old Priorians.

In the reverse fixture earlier in the season Colchester won the match by a large 85-0 margin.

However, O’Riordan believes that if his players dwell on the previous score it could hinder their performance.

O’Riordan said: “I think it is a case of putting the score from the last game out of our minds.

“The last time it was the first time we had played each other and it was a kind of getting-to-know-you game.

“We have to focus on our own game and what we can achieve.

“Old Priorians have some interesting home form so we will be taking nothing for granted or the game lightly.”

Colchester have a full squad to choose from for this weekend’s encounter and will only be making a small change to last Saturday’s successful side.

O’Riordan said: “The only change to the team is we have Nick Flexman coming back into the side on the wing.

“He was out last week with a viral infection. Matt Wadling stepped in and did a great job for us but his position is scrum-half.”
