LEADERS Braintree RFC will want to continue their momentum in London League division two north east.

They have hit the ground running following victories over Lowestoft & Yarmouth and Enfield Ignatians.

Braintree came back from 10-0 down to defeat Ignatians 29-13.

They face another tough encounter tomorrow when they make the trip south to Basildon.

But chairman of selectors Jeff Lewis was encouraged by Braintree’s display against Enfield.

He said: “They were a bigger far more powerful side than us but our boys just seemed to want it more.

“I can’t tell you how impressed I was with the way the lads played for their shirts and for each other.

“That desire hasn’t always been evident recently but it was there in full effect last Saturday.

“The boys really did give their all to represent their club and to work hard for and support one another.

“It was so heartwarming and impressive to see.”
