Adrienne Strover emerged from a field of 62 ladies to be the clear winner of the Centenary Gold Medal at Colchester Golf Club.
She put together a solid round to return a gross 87 – clear of the chasing pack of Helen Tartellin, Liz Lennox and the ladies captain, Bridget Whitworth, all with gross 88s.
In the Centenary Silver Medal, Anne Spurr put in a card of 94 which gave her first place with a nett 70, with second-placed Maureen Devenish (23) three shots back.
The ladies’ Silver Shield team won their first match 6-1 against Thorpe Hall.
Deborah Backhouse lost three and two at home, but Mandy Rix had a five and four win, followed by Philippa Deman’s four and three success, Nikki Bryant’s seven and six win and a four and three victory for Madryn Abnett.
Helen Tartellin won her debut game on the 19th and Annie Johnston battled to win two and one.
The ladies Silver Trophy team also had a home fixture against Canon’s Brook and won 4-1.
Tartellin won her match on the 18th, while Madryn Abnett lost seven and six, but there were wins for Liz Lennox (nine and seven), Gill Minns (five and four) and Parma Ellis (six and four).
