HIGH handicappers ran amok at Colchester Golf Club, when 33-handicapper Elizabeth Bainbridge rattled in 43 points to win the ladies’ Stableford.
Following her, on 40 points, was fellow 33-handicapper Romany Foster.
Both players carded the round of their lives in competitions at Colchester, in the process receiving handsome and well-deserved cuts in their handicaps.
In third spot was Philippa Macaulay (21), who had 39 points, followed by two returning 37, Cathy Burchell (10) and Penny Fairs, off 25.
With the men now well into the winter period, a record 71 pairs - 142 members - participated in the knockout leagues.
Mike Berry completed a notable feat when he secured a double hole in one.
Having achieved one last week, he followed it up by doing the same thing just four days later.
It is not the first time that Berry has achieved the milestone - in 1984, he registered two hole in ones in just four days.
The outgoing Colchester GC captains presented a cheque of nearly £4,000 to Autism Anglia, concluding their fundraising for the year.
