THERE was a bumper turnout for Stoke by Nayland's Club Captain's Charity Day.

Richard Allen, Steve Briggs, Robert Tokley and Sam Buxton were victorious, as more than 130 players competed in club captain Don Wiggins' event.

They won with 122 points, finishing three points clear of runners-up Keith Hodgson, Ian Smith, Ian Benson and Shaun Underwood (119 points).

In third place were Del Prichard, Paul Foley, Andrew Jackson and Nick Lee, who scored the same number of points.

Members played in teams of four where two of their scores counted on the first six holes, three on the next six and all four on the last six.

There were also two ‘beat the Pros’ competitions on two par-three holes, with professionals Miles Collins and Dani Anderson competing.

A putting contest, nearest the pin on all par-three holes and a longest drive completed the day.

A total of £1,663 was raised for Wiggins' charity, Prostate Cancer.
