COLCHESTER TOWN Ladies Football Club staged a special celebration 25th anniversary presentation evening.

A display of old trophies, photos and other memorabilia was on display, as Town celebrated 25 years of existence.

Each season, every girl and lady at the club receives a trophy and seasonal awards were handed out to those who have represented the club, in this campaign.

Colchester Town Ladies FC was formed in 1991 and played their first competitive match in September 1992, winning 4-1 at Abbey United in the Women’s Eastern Region League.

They played their first junior match in October 1993 as an under-14 team, losing 6-4 at Stanway.

During the last 25 years, they have secured many titles in league, cup and five-a-side tournaments.

Colchester Town Ladies FC have also been the platform for several ladies who have gone on to play international football for numerous nations including Canada along with Wales, Northern Ireland and other European countries.

One of their former players is Spurs Ladies goalkeeper Toni-Anne Wayne, who has just won the Women's Premier League with her club.

Wayne scored more than 50 goals for Town, during her time with the club.
