Colchester United's under-23s have been drawn away to Portsmouth in the Premier League Cup quarter-finals, after the draw was made today.
Wayne Brown's academy side will travel to play Pompey where they will attempt to secure a place in the last four in the competition.
The U's earned their place in the last eight after Eoin McKeown's early strike secured them a fine 1-0 win at Sunderland, last Friday.
Colchester beat Manchester City and Hull City in the group stages in order to progress to the knockout stages and also eliminated Category One club Derby County along the way.
