CHARLIE Allison scooped the main prize in Colchester Golf Club’s junior section’s End-Of-Year competition.

He returned 37 points from his 26 handicap to win the stableford event on countback from runner-up, Josh Coleman.

Four-handicapper Coleman shared the same number of points as Allison and also had the lowest gross, boasting the round of the day.

Coleman was just one under gross after the first nine holes on a dull, foggy day and a course with no run on the ball but with receptive greens.

He then dropped four shots between holes 11 to 13 but then steadied the ship and parred in to return a gross 73 on the par 70 course, a score which bodes extremely well for his season ahead.

Joe Jackson (9) took third place with his 36 points while in fourth was Harry Hills, who played off his five handicap to register 34 points.

After the main competition, the youngsters progressed to Colchester GC's state of the art Swing Studio for a longest drive competition.

It was won by Ollie Allison with a measured 299-yard drive.

England junior international golfer Lily May Humphreys, who was playing as a guest of junior captain Louisa Storey, won the nearest the pin competition.
