It was a good morning’s work for the deadly duo of Danielle Tatum and Sam Clayton, competing in the popular Annual Sudbury five-mile Road Race on a sunny Good Friday.

Tatum, 22, who has set a target to beat 30 minutes this year for the five miles, made her mark finishing in a useful 30 minutes 42 seconds.

She was second women home and was still full of running at the end, which should give her confidence for the new season.

Clayton, 16, running without fear, was also in great form.

He came in strongly in sixth position in a time of 28m 24s, out of a field of over 400.

Becky Adams, though feeling slightly off colour, still produced a respectable 34m 10s.

She was chased hard by Laura Hillyard who was just inside 35 minutes.

Super Veteran Diane Wooller was pleased with her 36m 6s prior to her London Marathon in two weeks time.

There were courageous runs from Isla Sharp, Sally Sharp and Shirley Hillyard.
