COLCHESTER Harriers bagged a hatful of county medals at the Little Bromley 10km Essex Road Championships.

The Green Vests produced some great runs with Colin Ridley winning over-50 gold in 35 minutes 02 seconds and also claiming a men's team medal.

The Harriers team produced a superb run in the National 12 stage road relay.

Led by team manager Richard Pickering, the Green Vests finished 41st overall against top class opposition.

A host of Harriers and other Essex club representatives travelled to mid-Wales, for the Dolgellau Park Run.

It was a great day for birthday boy Allen Smalls at the event, one of the smallest park run events in Britain.

He celebrated turning 50 by winning the race and setting a new age group record.

Smalls was one of six Harriers runners to set age category records at Dolgellau, along with Aiden Cahill, Becky Cooke, Sarah Stradling, Debbie Cattermole and Fran Norris.

Smalls then stayed on to run the next Dolgellau park run in 17 minutes 55 seconds to lower his own record and yet again record a victory.

Fay Smalls ran a personal best (PB) in 27m 37s, while Rachel Richardson-Wright clocked 33m 34s.

Harriers duo Debbie Cattermole and Richard Flutter both won the over-50 categories at the Victoria and Tower Hamlets five-mile race.

Flutter was also eighth and first veteran at the Olympic Park 5km, in 18m 27s.

Martyn Clarke was 23rd and first veteran over-55 in 39m 16s, in the 10km event.

Harriers' elite road team compete in the National 12 stage relay final in Birmingham, this weekend.
