COLCHESTER Harriers produced some stand-out performances in their final Eastern Young Athletes League meeting of the year at Stevenage.

Despite being low in numbers they claimed a solid fourth-place finish, with Zion Ateba's hat-trick of personal bests (PB) one of the highlights.

The under-13 athlete won her 70 metres hurdles (12.3 seconds) before recording an eight-centimetre improvement on her high jump PB to finish second with a clearance of 1.48 metres.

It was a jump that took her to tenth place in the UK rankings.

Ateba also finished third in the A string under-13 girls' 100m in a PB of 14.3s.

Under-17 athlete Finn O’Reilly claimed a PB of 12.4s in the A string 100m, followed by a phenomenal 15cm PB in the high jump where he flew over 1.65m for first place.

He also registered full points for Harriers in the javelin with a throw of 49.13m.

Henry Lawes gained maximum points after winning all three of his events.

He clocked a new PB of 11.7s in the 100m, ran 24.9s in the 200m and won with a distance of 5.39m, in the under-15 boys' long jump.

Harriers debutant George Lavender was second in the under-15 boys' 200m in 26.2s and third in the javelin (28.22m).

Katie Rice won the under-17 women’s 80m hurdles and was second in the B string 100m, along with fourth in the 300m.

Aliyah Soames added just under two metres onto her javelin PB with a final round throw of 29.26m in the under-15 girls' 500g event.

B string thrower Kayleigh Hales increased her PB by 10cm to achieve 27.57m and secure full points for the team.

Lauren Strutt claimed two second-place finishes in the under-17 women’s triple jump and shot putt, with a third in the high jump.

Hollie Spellar competed in the javelin, discus and 200m.

First-year under-13 athlete Alexander Bell-Cobbold had two impressive PBs.

She clocked 2m 44.4s in her debut 800m making her the highest-ranking runner for her age in the distance, before finishing fourth in the 200m in a PB of 30.3s.

Megan Stevens won her under-17 women’s 100m and was second in the 200m, along with securing a shot putt PB of 7.75m.

In the under-15 girls, Eliza Betts equalled her 200m PB with a run of 28.3s while in the under-17 men's 400m, Thierry Ajala was first in the A string and secured a big PB of 24.6s in the 200m.

Archie French was second in the B string and also claimed a 5m leap, in his debut long jump event.

Olivia Simon brought home near maximum points in the shot putt (7.76m), javelin (17.70m) and B string under-13 girls' 70m hurdles (14.2s).

Millie Presland achieved a new PB and second place in the under-15 girls' 1,500m (5m 03.4s) and claimed a high jump PB of 1.35m.

In the under-15 boys' 1,500m, Ziggy Lambton was second with Bailey Hunt clocking a PB of 5m 13.1s in the under-17 men's equivalent.

Harriers' women’s under-17 squad won their event in 53.5s, with the club's under-15 girls' finishing fifth and and the under-17 men’s team fourth.
