COLCHESTER and Tendring Athletic Club youngsters were in winning form in their latest Eastern Young Athletes League event at the Garrison.

A number of fine results were recorded, with many of those athletes gaining valuable experience competing at various events achieving personal bests (PB) and individual wins.

CATs' team finished fourth out of the seven teams taking part at the event, hosted by Colchester Harriers whose club's officials worked tirelessly with the Garrison to ensure that the athletes could use the throwing cage.

There were impressive wins for Henry Dover in the under-13 boys' 800 metres (2m 25.8s) and Evan Grocombe in the under-15 pole vault (2m 40s).

Mark Brayshaw won his under-15 800m race in 2m 17.8s while in the under-17 men's 100m, Akin Akinboh won in 11.4s.

In the under-17 women's category, Lauren Woodiwiss won her 300m race in a time of 44.8s.

Emma Gadson clocked 46.3s to win the 300m B String and Cerys Vickers won her long jump, in 4m 39 centimetres.
